Laura Macfarlan's true passion is encouraging women to love God and love His Word.
She writes and teaches through her non-profit, Cross My Heart Ministry, on the A Reason For Homeschool blog, and for Missions Mosaic magazine. She loves encouraging and sharing at women's events and conferences, is a regular speaker at home educators conventions, teaches 80 ladies in a weekly Bible study, and mentors women one-on-one.
Laura and her husband Kevin have been married for 33 years and have four adult children. They now have two daughters-in-love and one granddaughter (with another grandchild on the way).
My husband Stephen and I have been married for 12 years, and we have three beautiful yet EXTREMELY ROWDY and RAMBUNCTIOUS children: Grace (11), Carter (9), and Caleb (8). We are members of Calvary Baptist Church in Rosenberg, Texas where we both serve in various volunteer roles, including our church’s worship team and ministry. When we are not chasing after our children, serving at our church, or vegging on the couch watching Netflix or various sports, I am primarily a stay at home mom, and Stephen is a civil engineer at a Houston-based engineering firm. We are truly an example of the cliché that “opposites attract,” but we are like-minded in the things that matter such as a love for Jesus and His Church, a love for and giftedness in music, a love for our family, and last but not least, a love for Fightin’ Texas Aggie Football, good barbeque, and fajitas.
